Riecoin Core 0.17.0 and later

Post by Pttn » 20 Dec 2018, 23:49

I start this topic for discussion about Riecoin Core versions after 0.16.3. For people wanting to work on 0.17.0, you should be knowledgeable about the current Riecoin 0.16.3 code (and Bitcoin Core code in general) and a starting point is the Bitcoin Core 0.17.0 changelog. Being up to date with the very latest Bitcoin commits would also help to prepare future versions (0.18.0 and later).

I think that there is no hurry for now, upgrading to 0.16.3 is already enough for a while and efforts would be better allocated in other fields until we find more interest in Riecoin: light/Android wallets, useful services using Riecoin, finalizing the 0.16.3, new official website, reaching new people...
That said, we must never have a 4 years outdated wallet again, this is why I started this topic as well, so we can already discuss about catching up the future Bitcoin releases and do this efficiently.

Anyone already wanting to work on 0.17.0 is welcome to post here.

Bitcoin Core 0.17.1 is out.

Every developer interested in working on upgrading the Riecoin wallet should follow closely the Bitcoin Core code.
