Maybe, just maybe, we should just switch into 0.16.3 wallet standard so this at least can push us higher and give us any chance for refund. Waiting for old developers who either do not care anymore about RIC or just hiding because of this bounty scam, will not take us anywhere. Now almost everyone is loosing.

So maybe if they do not have money now, they can pay it later when the price will go higher or if they do not want to pay just say it but please also announce 0.16.3 wallet as official RIC wallet to let this coin do baby step into Global Market. Grown your balls, take responsibility and let this coin go to the Moon.

If gatra never comes back, the only way to make the wallet official is to agree/vote to compose a brand new Riecoin team, which will decide if the wallet is ready for now. Maybe we could wait end 2018 to give him a last chance to come back. Starting from 2019, he will not have any excuse anymore. Meanwhile, I opened a topic proposing that we compose a new Riecoin team. I agree that we should not delay anymore and lose possible opportunities while letting the Riecoin's future each day become more uncertain.

The wallet seems for now Ok, though to be declared official, a full and rigorous testing and code review by people knowledgeable about the Bitcoin Core code is definitively needed. To be honest, I am personally not an expert in this domain. Some points might also require testing like some soft forks/BIPs, and we need to agree if we want to activate SegWit or not. People interested in helping in the Riecoin Core development can read the clo1's post history.

A positive sign is that the number of Riecoin Core 0.16.3 nodes seems to be increasing, the Cryptoid's node list shows 4 nodes out of 30 (13.3%) using 0.16.3. A slow transition to 0.16.3 is also fine, and if more people are using 0.16.3, it will be easier to test this new wallet in real conditions. I invite people running full nodes and even pools to start using 0.16.3 now as it is working good enough for normal usage.

I remind this clo1 post:
The softforks haven't been tested yet but I don't expect any problems here. The older BIPS are coded to become active at a specific block. I have currently set them to become active at block 1000000 but this can be changed to a block that will be reached shortly after the code is released. Once this block is reached any block mined with an old miner (using an old block version number) will be rejected even if the block is otherwise perfectly valid.

The newer BIPS become active if a super-majority of blocks are mined using a miner indicating support. I believe it is 95% within a 288 block window. This must occur within a specific time window which we will need to set before releasing code.
For people currently using 0.16.3, we need to agree about these softforks or change the 1000000 value for a later decision. There is less than 5000 blocks remaining!

What a bastard!!! After many months, this lazy dude didn't even post anything, while someone worked hard for this update? I bet all the RIC in the world that gatra will not even bother come back this century!!

Totally agree, we have to reshape entirely Riecoin and fire this guy!!! Thanks for your work clo1 too

Is there some problem?

Yes, clo1 said
For those who want to continue running 0.16.3 after block 1000000, lines 85 and 86 in chainparams.cpp need to be changed. Just make it something really big like 2000000 for now. I thought 1000000 would be enough when I first wrote it. I can update this in the riecointeam repository as well.
So you need to edit the code and recompile.

That makes us realize that because of the passivity of gatra, we delayed so much the project. Please everyone, we need to build a solid support for Riecoin and advance. Any guest reading this forum, interested in Riecoin, and motivated, you are welcome too! We should have made the wallet official since months, way before that Block 1000000!

Instructions for compiling updated for Commit 49b03522 (now working past Block 1000000).

Deb64 and Win64 binaries (commit 49b03522) available in my Riecoin page. You will also find the blockchain up to 10004834 there if you do not want to wait forever to sync (also very useful for offline wallets)!

Nice, I see 6 nodes using 0.16.3! Everyone, please continue to upgrade slowly to the new version :D !
And more miners using 0.16.3 are welcome, it looks like that I am alone again. And especially pool owners, please upgrade to 0.16.3 soon!

For the new wallet, we should now hard code some reliable nodes. Anyone?
